Boundary & Improvement Survey
-
A Boundary and Improvement Survey consists of locating, setting, and marking your property corners - in addition to showing any improvements on, and near, the property boundary. These improvements include any structures, fences, concrete, or other permanent features. A boundary and improvement survey will show any building setbacks and easements on the record plat, if applicable.

Boundary and Improvement Surveys are used for real estate closings, by contractors, architects, engineers, and more. Title companies will provide survey coverage (on the title insurance policy) upon receipt of a “B&I” Survey. In addition, most municipalities/counties will require a B&I Survey for permitting processes.
